I noticed that I have not been posting a regular blog. This has made me think about being persistent in marketing. Whether you are marketing books, a writing business or another business, if you are not persistent in how you market, you are probably going to not be successful. You want to use all your resources available to you, including blogs. I have been remiss in keeping up my blogs, which has been hurting my business. Sometimes, it is hard for writers to promote their own business when they are helping other companies and authors. This year, I plan to write my blogs more often even when I go on vacation. Here are reasons why you want to be persistent in your marketing.
1. Google Rankings -- When you are persistent in your marketing, you will consistently be on top of Google in search results. Regular and fresh content on your Web site is one of the criteria used to establish who comes up when people search. Without regular and fresh content on your Web site, you might drop to page two or three of Google search results. Most searchers do not flip a page when seeking services.
2. More Profits -- Being persistent in marketing means you land more clients and get more profits. Whenever you meet someone through a meeting, networking function or online seminar, you have to follow up with that person. If you do not hear back from that person, you should keep trying until you get the response you seek. You might want a one to one or you might want to pitch your expertise. You might want to see how you could help that person succeed. When you continue to follow up, you will get results and profits. Not every person who responds will be a new author or client, but you won't get any if you don't follow up with that person in the first place.
3. Top of Mind -- Do you think large law firms or large corporations are not persistent in their marketing? They know that they stay on top of people's minds when they advertise, use social media regularly and other forms of marketing. That is what you must do. You must stay on top of people's minds. You must continue your marketing all the time even when you are tired or doing work for clients. Otherwise, you will not be on top of their minds when they need an editor or author.
These are just three reasons why being persistent is important. There are other reasons that are not mentioned here. In addition to being persistent, you also want to make sure you protect your First Amendment right to say what you believe or being persistent might not matter any more because we won't be allowed to write what we want.
Thankyou for this information.
